In the 2013 body of work entitled “Black Magic”, the influence of Baroque Decoration is predominant. These works are a reconstruction of relics of European grandeur hidden in Royal Collections, antique shops, castles and museums.
“When traveling around Germany earlier this year I was awestruck by the ornate beauty and wildly imaginative decorative art found everywhere. It was delightful and yet haunting, triggering a memory of deep connection to this past and the history surrounding the objects”.
